“Management ka to kaam hai training karwana”

This sentence has a touch of sarcasm, but behind the sarcasm lies a real concern.

As leaders, we must ask ourselves:

Why does training often feel like “just another task” to our teams?

Let’s be real, everyone understands the importance of training in the AI era, and no one hates learning anymore.

What they resist is:

– Learning that feels irrelevant

– Learning that’s rushed or poorly timed

– Learning that’s just a checkbox on someone else’s KPI sheet

Instead of brushing off these reactions as “bad attitude,” we should see them as signals.

Signals to reframe training with meaning.

Ask yourself (and your team):

  • Will this help them do better work?
  • Will it be delivered interestingly?
  • Will people just sit through it and wait for it to get over?
  • Will it reduce stress, not add to it?

In a world where everyone’s overwhelmed, the right learning experience can be the biggest morale booster.

As leaders, we should not view upskilling training as a formality, but rather as an opportunity to build relationships with those who are building the future alongside us.
