Why We Built AI Courses for “The Unsatisfied Minority” (Senior IT Professionals)

When I tell people I teach AI, the reaction is almost automatic: “Oh, so you teach engineering students?”
It’s not their fault; that’s where the majority lies. Most AI courses are designed for college students. Educational platforms know this, and they cater to that market. The playbook is simple:
- Course content? Stitch together stuff from the internet — a bit from here, a bit from there — and boom, you’ve got a course.
- Marketing? Just reach out to colleges and student communities.
- Message? “Do our course, get a job. Maybe even a placement.”
And that’s fine. It works. If you want to blend in, this is a great strategy.
But what if you don’t want to blend in?
What if you’re more interested in serving the unsatisfied minority?
Who is this “unsatisfied minority”?
Something interesting is happening quietly, but unmistakably.
Senior IT professionals are now showing serious interest in learning AI.
- Not just “AI tools”
- or a “How to lead AI projects” workshop.
They want to understand:
- What AI actually does.
- How AI systems work.
- And how to make real business decisions based on that knowledge.
These aren’t freshers. These are CTOs, Directors of Technology, VPs, and Senior Product Managers.
People who’ve led teams, built systems, and made complex decisions for years.
Now, they’re being asked to make decisions about AI without truly understanding how it works under the hood.
And that’s not acceptable to them.
So they start looking for courses…
They turn to Google.
They find options from all the usual suspects: MIT, IITs, IIMs, ISB, and every other big-name institution.
But here’s the thing.
When you peel back the layers, you often find the same content, just rebranded.
A course built for students, with a leadership wrapper slapped on top.
It’s a half-baked cake wrapped in gold foil.
And that’s a problem.
Because these professionals don’t need fluff. They need clarity.
So, what do senior IT professionals actually want?
After speaking with them, here’s what we learned:
- Time is limited.
They can’t afford 6 months to 2 years. They want something short but meaningful. - No interest in dusty textbooks.
They don’t want to go back to maths and stats like matrix multiplication or Bayes’ theorem. They want to learn without getting buried in equations. - A complete picture.
From basics to bleeding-edge — they want an end-to-end understanding. - No outdated theory.
Every concept needs to be relevant to today’s AI landscape. - They’re technical — but practical.
They want to know not just how AI works in theory, but how to apply it in real-world projects. - They also manage people.
So they need management frameworks and strategies for AI projects. - They’re tired of the hype.
They want the truth — what AI can do, and what it can’t.
Tough crowd, right?
And so, we built something for them.
Over 15 months, we built a course from scratch that does exactly what they need:
- Short and concise
- No complex maths or statistics
- Covers the full journey: from fundamentals to current trends
- Only relevant, modern concepts
- Practical, hands-on learning
- Includes leadership and management topics
- Real-world AI use cases (not just toy projects)
We didn’t try to chase the majority. We didn’t optimise for vanity metrics.
We chose to serve the unsatisfied minority, the ones who know what they want, and won’t settle for less.
And you know what?
It worked. Learners from top organisations like Microsoft, Aricent, Infosys, Maersk, Sapient, Oracle, TCS, Genpact, Airtel, Unilever, Vodafone, Jio, Sterlite, Vedanta, iDreamCareer, PayTM and more took our course.
And then they referred others.
Because when you design for the truly underserved people, you don’t need to scream for attention. They find you.
